Prices & Payment
How can this section help you compare fees?
Start with the treatment described in each quote. Match the teeth involved, materials, treatment stages and follow-up arrangements before comparing totals. This section provides questions to use alongside your written plan for treatment in Antalya, Türkiye.
The General Dental Council says a qualified dentist should assess you before you receive a treatment plan and cost estimate1. Ask for the proposed treatment, alternatives and risks to be explained before deciding.
- Match the treatment and materials described in each written quote.
- Identify included, excluded and unconfirmed items.
- Clarify payment terms and responsibility for aftercare before committing.
Choose where to start
- Treatment prices: questions about how fees are itemised, what each charge refers to and how changes to a plan should be documented.
- What's included: questions about inclusions, exclusions, follow-up and responsibility for additional care.
Keep the quote, treatment plan and payment terms together. Ask for unclear entries to be marked as included, excluded or awaiting assessment.
Before making a payment
A written plan should identify the legal entity you contract with, the treating dentist and the treatment address in Antalya. Confirm both before you commit.
Ask which payment methods are accepted, when payments fall due and what any deposit reserves. Request the cancellation and refund terms, including what happens if you decline treatment or the proposed treatment cannot proceed. Ask how any change to the agreed treatment and fees would be explained and approved.
What your own regulator tells you to ask
The UK General Dental Council recommends checking the treating professional's qualifications and registration, aftercare arrangements, insurance and complaints procedure1. For your proposed treatment, obtain written answers to these questions:
- Who treats me? Ask for the dentist's name, qualifications, registration details and arrangements for explanations in English.
- Who helps after treatment? Ask for the contact route, the care available in the UK and who is responsible for further treatment and extra travel.
- What happens if there is a dispute or complication? Ask which insurance applies and how the complaints procedure works.
The GDC also advises speaking to your own dentist before arranging treatment abroad1.
Plan for care after returning to the UK
Ask a dentist near home whether they can provide follow-up, and confirm who pays. The NHS advises considering records sharing and aftercare arrangements between providers abroad and at home2. Request a treatment summary, X-rays, aftercare instructions and, where relevant, implant system and component details. Confirm when and how you will receive them.
The NHS states that the NHS is not liable for negligence or failure of treatment2 when you go abroad for treatment, so ask the clinic how complaints and complications are handled. It also advises adequate insurance, because most travel insurance policies will not cover planned treatment abroad2. NHSBSA guidance for England and Wales says NHS repair and replacement entitlements do not transfer to work performed by another provider3. If an NHS practice accepts you, care depends on clinical need and its contract; this does not establish entitlement to a replacement implant or bridge. Ask the practice about the arrangements that apply where you live.
